New Jersey Early Intervention Week
Please join us to celebrate EI Week, May 17th through May 24th, 2008, at the following

May 17 Walk N Roll Fundraiser & Kohls Kids Abilities Carnival Childrens
Specialized Hospital and Kohls are co-hosting this exciting FREE family fun day carnival
with games, food, prizes and fun! 9am to 1 pm, Johnson Park, Piscataway, New Jersey

May 19 A Special Story Time A special interactive story will be presented for children
aged 2-3 years old. After a 20 minute presentation, there will be an opportunity to network
with other families with children with special needs and NREIC staff. Each family will also
receive a Goody Bag from the NREIC staff. 10:30 am to 11:15 am at the Wayne Public

May 21 Special Olympics Young Athlete Program Sports Skills Activities for Future
Athletes ages 2 1/27. This program was created to meet the physical and developmental
needs of children with disabilities in the areas of physical activity and play with an
emphasis on sports skill development for future participation in sports. Parents/
Caregivers and siblings age 4 and under are invited to participate. 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at
Hudson Milestones, 48 W. 45th Street, Bayonne, NJ. Pizza lunch will be provided! Call

May 21 Managing Your Childs Challenging Behaviors with a Positive Approach This
workshop by Nancy Atorino, MA, TOH, includes an overview of various behavior
problems, understanding why problem behaviors occur, ways to effectively manage
problem behaviors, tips for success, and a question and answer portion. 6:00pm--8:00 pm
at Helpful Hands NREIC, 65 Willowbrook Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Wayne, NJ. Registration is
